Life is like a boat in an ocean, facing numerous ups and downs during its journey. Some boats reach their destinations, while others continue their voyage in search of new and unknown horizons.
Throughout human history, we’ve witnessed individuals altering the course of events through sheer determination and sometimes irrational actions.
Society often demands rationality to maintain order and prevent volatility. The status quo is essential for those in positions of authority or the elite class.
However, the challenge with excessive rationality is that it rarely leads to groundbreaking discoveries or revolutions in human life. The potential we all carry is unthinkable. The beauty of human life is we don’t know what we can do. Our choices in different situations make us what we are and who we are today. In this complex existence, nothing is inherently right or wrong; perspective and intention determine the course of our actions.

The quote from the movie A Family Affair resonates with me the most. The movie plot is simple, a man falls in love with a woman older than him. The only antagonist for a period is the lady’s daughter, who knows the man because she worked for him and doesn’t want her mother to experience heartbreak.
In dilemma, when the lady asked her mother-in-law for guidance, she said a beautiful line “No great tryst ever started with someone being rational”. This line is enough to understand the way we should lead our lives.
Life is full of choices, and probabilities that change from time to time. The only way possible to live life to its fullest is to live it without overthinking. Overthinking is killing our precious time and doesn’t allow us to give our lives a chance to open different doors for us.
Nothing is certain or 100% guaranteed in this life. There are probabilities in each situation. To do something that can change your life course is always confusing. If you are confused about your future, then give yourself a chance. Nobody knows what lies in the next moment.
During a tug of war between your heart and mind, listen to your mind in practical matters but in life matters listen to your heart. It is because the heart is inclined towards your liking. And the mind tells us not to do this, as nobody has done this before. It would be a foolish thing to do. What will other people say about it? Your family and friends will laugh at you. All these are true.
But if you don’t do what you want to do then the regret of life would be way more painful than other people’s words. I don’t think god has sent us to earth to be rational in every situation. A little bit of cynicism is needed in all of us, to take life as a play and play it like any other game. In this game, no one is a winner but everyone is a player. The Gita also talked about performing our tasks without any inherent desire. Perform your action, just to perform your action. It is simple, but simple is the most difficult task in life.
